Assistant Editor

The Assistant Editor supports in planning, organizing, and managing the Editorial-Production Team operations. The incumbent helps manage the preproduction, production, and postproduction requirements of a cluster project.

Responsibilities:

Manages preproduction, production, and postproduction requirements of a cluster project
Does mechanical editing and proofreading
Trains assistant to the editors on proofreading
Reviews editorial queries and author alterations
Prepares marketing collaterals
Ensures that the set series style and design are followed
Prepares project progress report
Identifies and reports potential editorial problems and issues
Performs other editorial tasks as required by the Managing Editor

Qualifications:

Graduate of any four-year course, preferably BS Elementary or Secondary Education with subject specialization
Preferably with teaching experience or with a background in editorial-production processes
With prior experience in managing and supervising people
With excellent oral and written communication skills
Goal-oriented, team player, keen on details and can work with minimum supervision
