The book is authored by Richard Papa, then former Vice President of the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines, who took up extensive courses in fashion design and pattern making at the Premier Fashion Art School and Filipino costume making at the Cultural Center of the Philippines under the tutelage of the late National Artist Mr. Badong Bernal. Mr. Papa has been a fashion designer since 1989, doing couture and ready-to-wear lines for department stores in the country.
