Dr. Ernesto Y. Sibal was one of the few Filipinos in academic publishing who can irrefutably lay claim to these three titles—Patriot, Pioneer and Innovator. A staunch patriot, Dr. Sibal fiercely advocated the vision of designating Filipino-authored books for young Filipino learners. This vision was enabled by the establishment of Alemar’s Bookstore in 1958, and through the foresight and drive of Alegria Rodriguez, who shared in the vision of her husband, she helped galvanize then fledgling Alemar's Bookstore as the place to go for textbooks and school needs, propelling it to become the first established bookstore chain in the country.

Inihanda ang seryeng ito para maunawaan ng mga mag-aaral ang kahalagahan ng musika, sining, at edukasyong pangkatawan bilang bahagi ng kanilang paglago sa pag-iisip, pangangatawan, at pagiging malikhain.

Binibigyang-diin nito ang paghuhubog ng pagtitiwala ng mga mag-aaral sa kanilang kakayahan sa pamamagitan ng mga gawaing pangmag-aaral sa sining, musika, at edukasyong pangkatawan. Kabilang sa mga positibong layunin ng serye ang:
  • pagpapaliwanag ng inaasahang matututuhan ng mga mag-aaral sa bawat yunit;
  • paggamit ng mga araling maiuugnay sa kabutihang-asal;
  • paggamit ng mga lokal na materyales bilang pamalit sa mga may-kamahalang kagamitan na kailangan sa pag-aaral ng musika, sining, at edukasyong pangkatawan; at
  • pagkikintal ng mayamang kulturang Pilipino na may kaugnayan sa musika, sining, at edukasyong pangkatawan.

Sanayang Aklat—Puno ng mga gawaing nagbibigay ng positibong kamalayan sa mag-aaral sa pagmamasid, pagbibigay-kahulugan, at masusing pagpapahayag ng mga kagandahang kanilang nakikita, naririnig, at nararamdaman

Patnubay ng Guro—Naglalaman ng mga malikhaing pamamaraang makatutulong sa mga guro na maipahayag nang may kawilihan at kalayaan ang kanilang pagkamalikhain sa tatlong asignatura
