Ang seryeng Bagong Lakbay ng Lahing Pilipino ay gagabay sa mga mag-aaral tungo sa pagbabago, pagsulong, at pag-unlad ng lahing Pilipino.

  • Alinsunod sa K to 12 Kurikulum para sa Araling Panlipunan ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon;
  • Iniangkop sa edad, kakayahan, at interes ng mga mag-aaral ang mga paksa, gawain, at mga pagtataya upang ang pagkatuto ay maging makabuluhan, napapanahon, kawili-wili, at nakalilinang ng kritikal at mapanuring pag-iisip;
  • Naglalaman ng mga makabuluhang impormasyon, napapanahong datos, at estadistika;
    Nakaugnay sa mga kasalukuyang pangyayari at isyung panlipunan na naglalayong tumugon sa mga pagbabago ng panahon;
  • Nagtataglay ng mapanghamong mga gawain, pagtataya, at pagganap na hahasa at lilinang sa kakayahan ng mga mag-aaral na mag-isip, magsuri, magdesisyon, at bumuo ng mga bagay na makapaghahanda sa kanila sa mga pagsubok at realidad ng buhay.

Mga Komponent:

Worktext—Naglalaman ng makabuluhang mga impormasyon, napapanahong datos, estadistika, at tumutugon sa mga pagbabago ng panahon. Ang mga paksa, gawain, at pagsasanay sa seryeng ito ay sadyang iniangkop sa kakayahan at interes ng mga mag-aaral. Bawat aralin ay iniugnay sa iba pang asignatura partikular ang Sining, Musika, at Edukasyon sa Pagpapalakas ng Katawan.

Learning Guide—gumamit ng estilong backward design. Ito ay may tatlong mahahalaga at magkakaugnay na bahagi: ang unang bahagi (Stage 1) kung saan mababatid ang tunguhin ng bawat aralin. Makikita rito ang pangkalahatang layunin, pagsasalin (transfer), mahahalagang tanong (essential questions), mahahalagang pag-unawa (enduring understandings), pamantayang pangnilalaman (content standards), at pamantayan sa  pagganap (performance tasks); ikalawang bahagi (Stage 2) kung saan makikita ang mga pagtatasang
makatotohanan at kasasalaminan ng realidad ng buhay at mga gawaing susubok sa pag-unawa ng mga
mag-aaral. Ito ay nakaugnay sa mga inihanay na tunguhin sa unang bahagi; ikatlong bahagi (Stage 3)
kung saan makikita ang plano sa pagkatuto (learning plan). Dito makikita ang mga gawaing nakatalaga
para sa bawat pagkikita. Sa pamamagitan ng mga gawaing nasa ikatlong bahagi ay inaasahang maisasakatuparan ang mga bagay nanakahanay sa una at ikalawang bahagi. Ang LG ay masasabing “teacher friendly” sapagkat ito’y nakasulat sa paraang bulleted upang mas madaling basahin, maikli, at hindi maligoy subalit nagtataglay ng lahat ng kakailanganin ng guro upang maituro nang mabisa ang bawat aralin.

Ang Pinagyamang Pluma ay nakabatay sa K to 12 Dokumentong Pangkurikulum sa Filipino. Maingat na nasunod at napagyaman pa ang bawat istandard at kompentensing itinadhana ng kurikulum. Tiniyak na magiging hitik sa mga pagsasanay at gawaing angkop sa kakayahan at interes ng mga mag-aaral. Ang pagkatuto ay integratibo, makabuluhan, napapanahon, kawili-wili, nakalilinang ng kritikal at mapanuring pag-iisip, at nakapaghahanda sa mga pagsubok at realidad ng totoong buhay. Ang mga pagsasanay at pagtatasang inilaan sa bawat aralin ay inaasahang makalilinang ng ganap at makabuluhang pagkatuto.

Dr. Ernesto Y. Sibal was one of the few Filipinos in academic publishing who can irrefutably lay claim to these three titles—Patriot, Pioneer and Innovator. A staunch patriot, Dr. Sibal fiercely advocated the vision of designating Filipino-authored books for young Filipino learners. This vision was enabled by the establishment of Alemar’s Bookstore in 1958, and through the foresight and drive of Alegria Rodriguez, who shared in the vision of her husband, she helped galvanize then fledgling Alemar's Bookstore as the place to go for textbooks and school needs, propelling it to become the first established bookstore chain in the country.
